Not sure on the accuracy of the story, but it does entertain and provides interesting insight on the underground culture of hackers...plenty of humor, suspense and crisp acting.

This film is so real it hurts. Think of the head of Vodafone Greece who committed suicide because the telephone system was owned (granted that it was by the NSA). The 1st film Hackers was technically correct, but Hollywood added so much graphics to make it laughable.

A very interesting movie that delves deeply into the question; when is hacking a crime? It doesn't seem too important as to how close the movie follows the real life events. What is important, however, is the realism in the hacking techniques. This movie is able to make the viewer question the discretion on their computer and question the concept of "Big Brother" along with technology. Whilst Takedown brings up important issues, and does it well with fine acting and a storyline that is not too predictable, it becomes a very underrated movie that should be seen more widely.

Very dated in 2007. Also pretty obviously over dramatized. That said it was kinda entertaining and certainly makes you think about the definition of cyber crime vs. cyber freedom.
