Mr. Hobbs Takes a Vacation (1962)

Banker Roger Hobbs wants to spend his vacation alone with his wife, Peggy, but she insists on a family vacation at a California beach house that turns out to be ugly and broken down. Daughter Katey, embarrassed by her braces, refuses to go to the beach, as does TV-addicted son Danny. When the family is joined by Hobbs' two unhappily married daughters and their husbands, he must help everyone with their problems to get some peace.

i FREAKIN love this movie....jimmy stewart is my fave anyhow....the quotes throughout this movie are more then classic "that's not a light! that's a dar! you turn that thing on in the middle of the day...the whole ROOM goes black!" pahah...and then... "and now..." love it

comedy The screenplay doesn't seem quite up to the level of talent. This was one funny movie. Stewart was great at doing comedy. He plays a harrassed father who has to endure a month of vacationing with his family, and something always seems to go wrong. Actor Stewart, and director Koster were a great paire.
