One of the purest satire movies I've seen since Lord of War. And one of the clever ones and fair ones. Bad guys got a human face and good guys were shown as scum that wants profit and popularity over the good act. Pure movie magic here, without any ass kissing.

Probably Jason Reitman's best film, everything about this film was flawless and is probably not gonna b beat by Reitman in a long time though Up In the Air was a very close match! This is film that really plays on both sides on the smoking issue and makes some very good points on the views of smoking 2day. However wat this film draws close to me is how well the main plays the devil's advocate, proving any side of an argument can be defended successfully using the rite words and technique. Overall this a film that hits home and deserves 5 stars... and this should b shown 2 all anti-tobacco advocates out there so they can stick their views where the sun dont shine!

Loved this movie! It's a comical spin on a lobbyist for Tobacco that will stop at nothing, including selling cigarette use to students in his son's classroom. It's oddly provocative and convincing. I was surprised someone didn't light up in the theatre.

Sharply written, well-directed and well-acted, Thank You For Smoking combines satire and a personal, emotion-driven father and son story to create an unabashedly silly, yet still down-to-earth and very human, film, while deftly managing to hardly ever take sides in the socio-political issues that drive the plot.

This film made me think about life as well as myself in so many ways. That, as a filmmaker, is what we want to accomplish. The story Jason Reitman told was brilliantly expressed and I couldn't wait to share it with others, by far in my top 5, I think everyone needs to see it.
