Departing from the previous films, Mimic 3: Sentinel attempts to deliver a murder mystery with a twist. In a classic Rear Window scenario a medically infirm young man takes photos of the goings on of his neighboring apartment complex and becomes obsessed when he seemingly witnesses a murder, but when his sister goes to investigate she finds something that neither of them could have ever expected. There are some interesting actors in the cast, including Alexis Dziena, Rebecca Mader, and Lance Henriksen, but their performances are rather mediocre. And the tone of the film is uneven, as the mystery and horror elements don't really work together. Poorly made and unfocused, Mimic 3: Sentinel marks a low point in the series.

Others here have said it, and yes, this is absolutly 'Rear Window' with man-eating monsters. I do have to give the film some credit, though, for at one point actually admitting the similarity. Apart from the 2-D characters and predictable plot, the biggest tragedy here is that Lance Henriksen has once again assosiated himself with a below-average horror film. Like Robert Englund before him, I'm afraid this excellent actor may have typecast himself into inferior roles.

Good story but the crappy acting and low budget ruined it

Really weird. This guy who suffers from ad advanced asthma and ex bubble boyu spends all of his time in his sealed bedroom taking photos of the comings and goings of his neighbours in surrounding high rise flats. The one day he sees a slaying of his neighbour by a huge strange beetle/cockroach like creature. Do the police or his mother believe him. Not in time before many lose their lives including his sister, mother, new girlfriend and will they leave him intact - strange twist at the end. Lance Henriksen nice eye candy.

Rear window with giant killer bugs. That's the best way to sum this film up. Surprisingly, considering the first two films, this goes with a bit more of a subtle story that isn't just about bugs tearing people limb from limb. It tries to add a nice touch of suspense and mystery to the story. Unfortunately it is lacking in the acting department, even Lance Henriksen seemed to be just passing through.
