Peliculon... las dos actuaciones se morfan la peli... Dato: Ademas de conseguir la banda sonora que es muy buena... tomense el trabajo de conseguirse el libro... es un libraso que te hace apreciar la peli desde otro lado

Nick Cage gives his best performance, which is so good that it just makes me scratch my head when he slogs through crap like Next and Ghost Rider. Elizabeth Shue ain't bad either, even though her career peaked here. This is one of my favorite movies, and I revisit it frequently, because of the reality of the performances. Brilliant.

Nicolas Cage is an actor that I've always criticised, and several of his films are among the worst I've ever seen. The most noticeable being Knowing or National Treasure, but some are among the best I've ever seen. This being one of those. These two portrayals of loneliness and desperation from Nicolas Cage and Elisabeth Shue are just outstanding. What they do so brilliantly is how they make us connect and relate to their characters, and how they shrive for a purpose and for a reason. The writing is incredible and the soundtrack is brilliant. This is surely one of the most heart-breaking, powerful and beautiful films I have ever seen. A masterpiece, and a new favourite. I am in awe.

Nicholas Cage is a gem when it comes to overacting, but in this film his overstated performance feels exactly in place and surprisingly enhances perfectly the noir styled depravity on exhibition in this dark and intense romantic drama which itself is a pinnacle of downbeat cinema.
