Incredibly moving film about the background to the Rwandan massacres. Assembled as a series of short vignettes, the story follows through to a message of hope and understanding. Have you seen another film with a 100% critics rating on RT!!!???

Doubly disappointing considering that it marks the first feature by Rwandan filmmakers to address the country's 1994 Hutu-on-Tutsi genocide, Kinyarwanda awkwardly and fitfully patches together a half-dozen story strands meant to provide a panoramic view of war and reconciliation.

Not exactly what the typical movie-goer is used to, this is nonetheless a brutally honest, unforgettable film about the horrors and compassion during mass genocide.

The plot was confusing as it jumped around. I wish they were real stories not based on real ones.

Saw it last night in Alexandria VA (AMC Hoffman). Amazing, complex film. It starts out slow and a bit confusing, and builds slowly to a crescendo. I was mesmerized by the leads and the stories. The film provides insight into the conflict and its aftermath through individuals and their lives. I found it riveting and haunting. It is searing in its condemnation of wrongdoers, but yet it is not judgmental of groups. And it ends with optimism - can't ask for more!
