A strange yet interesting film. More thoughtful than many martial arts flicks, and not so flamboyant. This seems to be as much a soliloquy on aging and life as it is a kung fu showcase. I can see how this can easily be underrated, even if it is not quite a great martial arts film.

Based on Ip Man's final stage of his life, this isn't as bad as reviewers made it out to be. Just because it isn't full of action with Donnie Yen in it it was still interesting to see the much calmer side of Ip Man.

The aging Ip Man was well played. His fighting style showed exactly what a aging fighter should look like. Even though Ip Man is older the movie was not slowed down from the previous films. Action and a great story line went hand and hand the entire film. Definitely worth watching.
