Failed musician Jay abandoned his family and now earns a living as head bartender in a trendy London pub. Every Wednesday afternoon, a woman comes to his house for graphic, almost wordless, sex. One day, Jay follows her and learns about her. This eventually disrupts their relationship.

Some bartender sleeps with a woman every wednesday at a certain time but, they never speak to each other. One day he decides to follow her around and then discovers that she is married, has a child and yadda-yadda-yadda. The sex scenes are explicit, the movie is too long and while the acting and dialogue tends to be good, nobody in the movie is all that likeable. Feels and plays out like a cliche arthouse flick.

Poorly handled and at times feels a 3 hour film, with not enough of a story to begin with.

For what this is it's a good movie. The problem lies in the premise, two people meet up for sex without knowing anything about each other but then one of the couple gets curious. This seems to have been an arty movie that was testing how far they could push the sensors and in Britain it worked as I believe this is the first film passed by the BBFC that has penitration on screen. Ignoring the sex scenes the film is very well acted and there is a bit of tension between the couple as they start to break their self imposed rules but unfortunately I don't think that is the focus of the film just an excuse for explicit sex scenes.

A film that promises much more than it delivers, and the "real" sex seems to have no effect on the vacuous lives depicted just rather vacuously.A film where somebody playing a Clash CD is a sign of some kind of authenticity.
