Netflix 5/10/15 Interesting from a historical perspective but kind of predictable and formulaic with some weak dialogue. Did enjoy it however.

I loved it. Our sons were extras in the movie, but I knew the story was going to be a hit, because of the fact that not many are educated on the VMI cadets and their role in the Civil War. Jason Isaacs is one of my favorite actors, and was unbelievable in the movie. All of them did such an amazing job and the movie is so worth it to see it at the theaters. I will see it again and again..and if you're a female, take tissues..I didn't have mine handy so I had to use the food napkins. :-) GO SEE IT NOW!!!!!!

A Civil War drama involving the cadets of the Virginia Military Institute being called up to active duty by the Confederates for the Battle of New Market. Supposedly there to be held in reserve and not see battle, the cadets find themselves reinforcing the front line and leading the charge against the Union forces. The field they charge across is a muddy, soupy mess, causing many of their shoes to be sucked into the miasma to be left behind - thus the name of the movie. Mildly moving. Quite watchable.

Umm, had I not know my history You'd think the South was for freeing the slaves and the North were the Backwards hicks. Think they got the uniforms backwards. This is some excuse my french bullshit. The movie, ehh it is what it is. you want to see heroic kids defying the odds well here ya go. It's just some revisionist crap. Teaparty wet dream.
