I saw this in the theatre and it had intermission. Long film but a great story about Stonewall Jackson. Great Prequel to Gettysburg

Great movie! It shows how the faith of two Confederate generals and one Union general played in with life and war. A great family movie with some great true history....could use some more politically uncorrectness though. It's four hours long, but great if you love "Civil War" history.

A great movie...personally one of my favorites because there wasn't all the needless gore and violence...and christianity was a theme FINALLY...A good story and accurate portrayal of the Civil War...

A great movie great filming it is about 219 mins movie the most inspiring person is general Jackson but it is in the fever of south people that is the point may be they were right but i am with northen people as they was to free the slaves overall it is a great movie TWO THUMBS UP.......

Even though I can understand where the bad press about this film comes from, I believe that those that are fairly knowledgeable about the Civil War will enjoy the historical accuracy in this film. Real, oftentimes famous quotes are used by the main characters. The KFC eating southerners present in Gettysburg are absent in Maxwell's movie as well. Even though it's fairly long and takes some appreciation of the fine details, this film is underrated and doesn't deserve the bad reputation that it has received.
