Fatherland (1994)

I really enjoyed Harris' book. The movie adaptation has some major differences but it was a good movie after all. Also, there are not many alternate history movies out there. I wish that was made into a big blockbuster.

Really great idea - bit of a made-for-TV feel. Seemed strange to focus on story so small scale within a concept so large but you get snippets of this chilling alternate world here and there and the conclusion is fairly macrocosmic.

entertaining, but can't even begin to compare to the brilliance of the book. The rate that it speeds through is ridiculous, missing out so many sections and themes from the book. Even the end of the film has been changed. The way the 'truth' was exposed was so tacky, having none of the tense drama of the book, and the end scene with Kennedy?! whatever.
