Nar den pragmatiske amerikanen (Sinatra) hamnar i ett krigsfangelager i Italien har han for avsikt att ta det lugnt och vanta pa befrielsen. Denna installning forarar honom epitetet "von" fran de mestadels brittiska fangarna som tanker fly till varje pris. Gissa vem som sedemera leder flykten... En intressant sak med den har 60-talsrullen ar att intalienarna talar italienska, tyskarna tyska och britterna brittisk engelska, vilket knappaskt var sjalvklart da.

This is a highly underrated action adventure film set against WW2. Frank Sinatra gives as solid a performance on the screen as he does on stage. Excellent Movie.

Frank Sinatra and Trevor Howard are cast together to make an underrated WWII/prisoner of war film. This isn't a typical "America is the hero" film because our lead actor (Sinatra) plays an American Colonel who makes costly mistakes along the way to escape in this great action filled film. The escape is probably the most intelligent attempt I've ever seen in a film of this type before. Very intriguing with plenty of memorable moments.

Similar to the Great escape. A movie i saw when i was in 6th Standard and i still remember it.

Sinatra makes a compelling performance as a Army POW who is one of the highest ranking men there. They decide to escape from the camp which they do in a train slated to go to Germany, but instead goes to Switzerland thanks to the Italian engineers along the way. Of course, no one knows it's a escapee train and for the most part, they have some hairy moments since folks think theyre German and all. Will keep you glued to the seat.
