Shrugged off by public and media, this is an utterly disquieting conspiracy theory on the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, meticulously choreographed by a clique of rouge right-wingers.

Watching this movie will certainly leave you believing that Burt Lancaster and Robert Ryan had Kennedy killed. Unsettling movie connects the dots among all the strange inconsistencies of November 22, 1963 into a broad conspiracy movie that certainly was capitalizing on the Watergate paranoia of the time. The film's sparse docu-drama style lends everything a very believable quality as well as the intricate inter cutting of actual footage from Kennedy's trip. Ryan and Lancaster add weight to roles that are really one dimensional and today are seen almost as caricature, but in their hands there is still some honest menace. The final reveal of the movie regarding the deaths of the witnesses leaves the viewer with an effectively ominous final chord to go out on.

3: The documentary footage is spectacularly effective, as are the scenes in which the backroom power brokers plot Kennedy's assassination. It seems to be a pretty credible concept, just as those proposed in Oliver Stone's JFK seem to be. I'm no expert, but there are so many little strands of evidence that could lead one to believe Oswald did not commit the crime, or at least didn't do it alone. I know there are many counterarguments, but I wouldn't call either case entirely solid. I'd say an even better examination would simply be a fact by fact handling of the case. The fact that so many witnesses died from unnatural causes so soon after the assassination is certainly one of the stronger points in the conspiracy theories favor. I still think Mad Men's handling of the assassination is the best example of it I've seen on film, but this is a very creditable and entertaining interpretation. Lancaster is particularly potent and outstanding. Robert Ryan is good as well. It seems pretty incredible how much was packed into a 90 minute picture.

Executive Action is a decent film. It is about the conspiracy theories of President John F. Kennedy's assassination. Burt Lancaster and Robert Ryan give good performances. The screenplay is a little slow in places. David Miller did an alright job directing this movie. I liked this motion picture because of the drama and mystery.
