And his friend, Gabriel, who may have dropped out from school and become a protestor, wants desperately not to get drafted for Vietnam.

Realizado por Jack Nicholson, "Drive, he said" procura marcar a sua posiÃ§Ã£o numa Ã (C)poca conturbada para os Estados Unidos. FÃ¡-lo atravÃ (C)s de um retrato algo confuso repartido entre um jogador de basket inconformado e um gajo que se faz passar por louco para nÃ£o cumprir serviÃ§o militar. Os dois sÃ£o faces diferentes do mesma juventude desalinhada. Mas aquilo que pode atÃ (C) ser um bom documento contra-cultura da Ã (C)poca nÃ£o se traduz em cinema de grande interesse hoje. Isto se exluirmos algumas sequÃªncias simbÃ³licas e a presenÃ§a da sempre fascinante Karen Dalton. 2/5

The relationships between characters make no sense and mean nothing. The pacing and camera work are fine, but there is no sense of importance in this film. The role of Gabriel should've been played by Nicholson if it was going to be in the film at all. The relationship between Olive and Bloom and Richard was just wacky and did not feel real at all. The film focuses on so many different relationships that it lacks grounding for characters and a central focus for the audience. The feel just feels like a bunch of meaningless and phony vignettes trying to gel as one.
