Brilliant first half gives way to a lousy second half.

Kamal is back with a good film after a bit of an exile. J.C. Daniel's biography like a stoic narrative, had an undertone of tragedy in it but still the cast charms. Celluloid is worth repeated viewings just for the provocative period it tackles with.
