This is a bit dated now but very in depth it should be required in high school .

A sometimes fascinating, sometimes disturbing but always interesting perspective about the depiction of homosexuality in Hollywood movies. Very good movie.

Incredible documentary on film history and LGBT characters as portrayed throughout nearly 100 years in film. The treatment of the subject pre-Brokeback Mountain demonstrates how many changes have been made since the mid-1990s (and how many more changes still need to happen). I heartily recommend this adaptation of Russo's writing to anyone wanting to know more about the history of LGBT portrayals in film.
