With sincerity I think this should have stayed like a short-film. The way in which the most important events of the first hour take place like everything that happens to his wife are so unlikely that they border the ridicule. At least it ends with strength.

Cargo is a slow burn zombpocalypse drama that hits some familiar beats, yet there's a rich humanism at its core that makes the journey meaningful.

A massively underrated zombie movie with a great performance from Martin Freeman. It suffers from some weird editing at times and a not very original plot, but it's just the kind of zombie movie I like. Some elements of the plot don't work quite as well as others, but I still appreciate it for trying. Will it leave any lasting impression in me? Probably not, but it's great to see a geniunely good zombie film once in a while. This is the second best zombie movie with Martin Freeman in it.

It tries just a touch too hard to make the point...but Freeman and Landers are so strong and Geoffrey Simpson's cinematography so sumptuous that it hardly matters.
