Upon his release from a mental hospital following a nervous breakdown, the directionless Anthony joins his friend Dignan, who seems far less sane than the former. Dignan has hatched a harebrained scheme for an as-yet-unspecified crime spree that somehow involves his former boss, the (supposedly) legendary Mr. Henry.

Uninvolving early Anderson movie. Why do we care about this guy's obsession with a maid? I don't get it.

This movie fleeping owns. If you haven't seen Wes Anderson's first flick, DO IT! DO IT NOW! Great performances by all in this quirky little tale that surpassed my initial expectations. Having loved both The Royal Tennenbaums and The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou, I figured this too would be a keeper and I was very correct. If you're a fan of Anderson's work, or any of the actors involved in this flick then check this movie out. ASAP.

Though I can see how this brand of humor may not be appealing to certain tastes, I find this film to be absolutely hilarious. While it could do without the love story, which tends to slow the film down rather than add emotional depth, this film is still a classic, and probably Wes Anderson's best film along with Rushmore. Owen Wilson does his best work here as the inept dreamer Dignan. This film oozes style.

simply wes anderson's first masterpiece that paved way for many great films. its s simple story about friends with ambitions, whether they be in the form of love, success or simply the the thrill of being a criminal. often hilarious, it carries a unique sense of humor that may require at least two initial viewings to catch all of its great moments. by the end, you can't help but smile from the experience.
