Blood and Wine suffered from an inconsistant plot. The characters and direction of the film were all over the place and it left a lot of holes which needed filling. We have some suprisingly strong actors here, but they were given a mediocre script to work off of; their potential wasn't fully realised. Jennifer Lopez, while looking radiant, had an annoying accent that I couldn't shake off. Jack Nicholson, Michael Caine and Stephen Dorff were the only great actors of the film, but like I stated previously; were given a shotty script. Blood and Wine would be interesting to fans of the aforementioned actors above, but others might shrug it off as another filler film of the ninties.

Watching Nicholson and Caine compete in this thriller is entertaining to a certain point, and then you begin rooting for no one since it all comes down to greed.

This movie had great character crime drama. Jack Nicholson, Michael Caine, and Jennifer Lopez are awesome.

Boring, uninteresting and slow. Not only that but the characters were very dull, undeveloped and the acting wasn't much good. Those are the biggest problems with this film, but overall it dosent have much going for it. The plot wasn't new and didn't hold much excitement, there was a brief car chase and fistfight but otherwise there was no action. The title is misleading, it sounds like a action gang type movie but isn't. The blood part of the title works, the wine part dosen't make much sense to me at all. I can't say I have anything really positive to say about it, it didn't fail in every aspect, but it did below average in all them.
