Badge 373 (1973)

When his partner is killed, tough Irish detective Eddie Ryan vows to avenge the death, whatever the cost. As he begins unraveling clues, his behavior becomes so outrageous that he's obliged to turn in his badge, but the experience only emboldens him. Ryan eventually learns that his partner was caught up in a Puerto Rican gun-running scheme masterminded by a crook named Sweet Willie, who wants to foment revolutionary war.

Robert Duvall had a lot of little unheard of 'gems' in the 70s but as a leading man Ive never really considered him a bankable star. That's probably why a lot of his shit has gone into obscurity. Badge 373 is one of those movies that is driven by his great performance that's worth checking out for fans of the actor & not necessarily the general populous. Im sure most film goers will find it boring & offensive to Puerto Ricans. Personally I don't care. The 70s were a much different time & I love films from that era. Suspended from the force Duvall investigates his partners murder which leads him to a $3 million shipment of guns for a revolution. Contains a great bus chase that is almost as good as the one in Walter Hill's 48hrs. If you like dirty gumshoe flix driven by the performance of your leading man then seek this out. If you have the attention span of a star nosed moll don't bother..In fact you probably don't even know who the fuck Robert Duvall is anyways
