A somewhat messy but never the less engaging film about small town politics and policing and how the mentality of a small town can effect the way that crimes perpertrated on some are taken less seriously depending on who or how well off you are. It also deals with how we often judge evil criminal by appearence and lifestyle while a respectable public face can hide real evil. Worth the watch for a fine performance from Billy Bob back on his 'Monsters Ball' best playing an unsypathetic lead characterforced to find his better self through the adversity he encounters.

(2002 Director Robbie Henson) Good movie stars Billy Bob Thornton with a very interesting role played by Patricia Arquette. Role by William Defoe as the local Southern (Louisiana) corrupt Judge.

Not quite sure how I ended up watching this - not bad though

I love these deep south, redneck type movies. This is a very interesting thriller. And Billy Bob is great in anything!

Depois da interessante primeira hora, o roteiro se acovarda e evita se aprofundar nos polêmicos temas que vinha abordando. Além disso, os buracos na trama e os personagens unidimensionais comprometem a história.
