This movie progressively went from uninteresting to amazing. Technically, I didn't think there was anything wrong with it. Just one of those moments where the first 30/45 minutes aren't cutting it. It really is an emotional movie.

An extremely touching film that left me with tears streaming my face and my mouth opened in stunned silence. Great performances by all, particularly by the two boys, and a fascinating look into the struggles of growing up, and courage in the face of danger. I also loved the brutal honesty of the portrayals.

Super good and super sad minus string music or any hint of lameness. Louis Malle is one of my favorite directors.
