George Stevens does an amazing job directing this incredible film. This is one of Montgomery Clift's finest performances, if not his best. Shelley Winters is absolutely amazing - one of my favorite performances of all time. Elizabeth Taylor is breathtaking. Amazing cinematography, the extreme close-ups are so effective. The whole film just clicks and works so well.

I had forgotten how much I loved this movie. I had not forgotten about this place. I've been busy with work and getting ready for school and a new relationship and old friendships. I haven't been watching nearly as many movies as I'd like but it's all good. I need to catch up with everyone. I hope all is well with you all.

Not even "A Streetcar Named Desire" hit me this hard.There are no doubts about this film, it is simply amazing with terrific acting by both Clift and Taylor and brilliant direction of George Stevens (who also directed Taylor in Giant 3 years later). What really makes this an emotionally-moving story, is the great sympathy (flaws and all) you felt for them. Your heart rooted for Taylor & Clift's starcrossed romance and cried for them too. This is without a doubt a film experince not to be missed by any.

Taylor's best film. Based off the book "An American Tragedy". A great story about a nobody trying to be a someone.

Every second of this noir masterpiece is gripping, and the chemistry between Montgomery Clift and Elizabeth Taylor is utterly thrilling.
