Good movie for psych students to capture what it was like when the foundations of theory occurred

Keira Knightley is a tour de force in this otherwise slow moving movie. Fassbender is a bit turgid and Mortensen is almost comatose, only the amount of unsmoked cigar says otherwise. If Knightley, whose acting is ten orders of magnitude above the rest of the cast, was not in this movie it would be easy to give it a miss. However see it for her performance alone!

Cronenberg's clinical approach to Hampton's too on-the-nose dialogue makes for a very static drama; it's as if the filmmaker is much more comfortable dealing with eroticism as subtext than text.

The conflict of Freud and Jung, executed very intelligently and the backdrop executed very beautifully.
