Robert Altman's Three Women takes a surreal, improvisational and rather eerie look at the lives of three women in a western desert town. The plot centers around the youngest of the women, Pinky (Sissy Spacek), an eccentric, withdrawn woman trying to begin a new life.

Ridiculous, weird, and just plain awesome. Bares a lot of similarities to "Mulholland Drive" and "Persona"-- But I thought it was way more fun and involving than either of those movies. I have no idea what the hell this movie is about, by the way.

I am absolutely mystified by this film. Shelley Duvall and Sissy Spacek are excellent as Millie and Pinky. 2 women who develop a friendship while working at a retirement home and slowly begin to take over each others identities. The final scene will totally pull the carpet out from under you. Robert Altman's most surreal and dreamy film. If you love David Lynch's work I recommend this to you.

An amazing piece of work from the late, great Robert Altman. Shelley Duvall gives a truly remarkable performance which won the top prize at Cannes and was nominated for a BAFTA. Sadly Oscar overlooked it, and it remains Altmans most underrated work.
