A bit less convoluted and engaging than the first movie, it's nonetheless a fun romp with Asian Holmes shenanigans, seemingly cthulhoid creatures and a giant sea monster, with that swashbuckling spirit that once was the trademark of HK flicks.

cause of the writing, most performances were one-note. when angela baby dances there's so much cg do you appreciate her talent or the person clicking the mouse? lol! however, amazingly fun to watch wire-fu fights!! : D

What's wrong with making a nice, sophisticated procedural? Must everything be "action-packed"? Just as I do not expect something with "Sherlock Holmes" in the title to be a Matrix-like martial arts film, I similarly do not expect (nor want) a film about Judge Dee to be Yuen Woo-pinged to death.
