A nice 1st-person experiment. It kind of gets old after a while but it's still interesting.

pretty good film with good performance by the lead actress. shot entirely in first person (except the narration interludes) and it actually comes across better than i expected.

The s l o w e s t m o v i e e v e r . . . There are so many things that don't work for the film. The perspective is difficult and felt like a Time Crisis arcade game. We are forced to see events in Marlowe's eyes and nothing else. Our peripheral vision is a square and not panoramic. We don't see events but we're told events. There is too much going on and too aural-based for a medium so visual. Stick to the novel...

Chandler's story, which might be his finest, somehow comes through this gimmicky filmmaking experiment intact enough though much scathed.
