Brilliant and beautiful; Detective Dee is the Holmes of the east. Action sequences were some of the best I've seen in any flick and the story keeps you guessing until the end. Definitely worth your time.

I'm really not much of a fan of these Chinese Fantasy movies, but this one was really enjoyable, even at 2+ hours. It is a combination of martial arts, magic, and murder mystery. The special effects and CGI were all pretty seamless but not over done (except for maybe the finale). I'm not at all familiar with Chinese actors, but everyone in this one were really convincing. This probably isn't a movie for everyone, but I enjoyed it and so did the other Slightly Strange People Who Go To The Sunday Morning Showing.

Always enjoys Andy Lau's performances and this is no exception. A fun movie in the same vain as The National Treasure or Sherlock Holms.

not bad... good fight choreography by sammo hung, and pretty decent plot and acting. kind of a mix of sherlock holmes and crouching tiger / hero. fun movie to watch, even if it is slightly on the longer side (just about 2 hours)
