Dark and deep, one of Williams' greatest performances

This movie should go down as a cult classic. The dark humour really is some of the best I have ever seen, and the story is one of most original screenplays that we have seen in a long time. Robin Williams performance is one of the most empowering and freeing performances I have ever seen, and is defiantly Oscar worthy. Daryl Sabras performance as our protagonists son is also very original and well acted. I would recommend this movie to anyone that likes movies in general.

Worlds greatest dad is a bold brilliant piece of filmmaking.The performances are terrifc this is also very funny.This has a phenomenal screenplay and some great direction.Overall this is a phenomenal film that I would recommend to just about anybody. Grade A+

It's an odd film, for sure, but the very morbid sense of humor Goldthwait has about us in a society of 'fakers," and a venturesome but juicy performance from Williams make Bobcat's newest feature the most riveting black comedy in ages. Walking over any moral line without any hesitation and exploring the hypocrisies of human nature and defiling the very face of self-gratification, Dad doesn't intend to take any prisoners, rather vilifying anyone that stands in its way, and in its own sickly profound way, it succeeds wickedly. It is nihilistic as it is heart-warming; it is cynical as it is optimistic--- it is Bobcat giving society and the media all the middle finger. By exposing the superficial fabrications of a deceased celebrity, Bobcat assures us all that no matter how inappropriate or disgusting it is to be true, honesty is better than being a self-righteous hypocrite.

Poorly advertised. This movie may have been a real award contender if it had gotten more attention. This is Williams' best role in YEARS, and it really speaks volumes about some of the unsung troubles of parenthood, and even more about if people are really worth lying for just because they -were-.
