The World's Greatest Athlete (1973)

Stuck with a feeble sports department, college coach Sam Archer (John Amos) faces the ax unless he can reverse the school's athletic fortunes. An African vacation with his assistant (Tim Conway) answers Archer's prayers when he spots the athletically gifted Nanu (Jan-Michael Vincent). Sam counts on Nanu's remarkable abilities to put the team back on the winning track. This upbeat farce boasts an impressive cast of comedians.

Only giving it three stars cause I don't remember much about it..it's been a while. Would like to see it again sometime.

Pure early Disney cheese. Me likey. John Amos is SO very likeable and Tim Conway is a hoot! Love the minaturization scene which is surprisingly well done for the time period. They gave Conway the "Mug-Away" card to be played throughout the film.

Good live action disney movie. Good for the whole family. Very enjoyable. Jan-Michael was great as Nanu. He did a fantastic job.

Pretty bad, but it still has some silly slapstick comedy. They went all out with the shrinking man skit complete with a huge rotary phone and cocktail drink he falls into. The story was interesting with a black coach and a White American athlete. Then at the NCAA track and field championships they had byu as a key school. Disney was really focusing on minorities in this one.
