Wilde (1997)

Oscar Wilde is a married playwright who has occasionally indulged his weakness for male suitors. After much toil, Wilde debuts 'The Importance of Being Earnest' in London, and a chat at the theatre with Lord Alfred 'Bosie' Douglas leads to a full-fledged romance. However, this affair leads to a legal dispute with Lord Alfred's oppressive father, the Marquess of Queensberry, and, given the local anti-gay laws, Wilde is jailed. Wilde's vast intellect helps him survive until he regains his freedom.

I LOVE this film.. Stephen Fry is perfect as the tragic Oscar.

If it weren't for Orlando's character Wilde wouldn't have wondered if he was gay or not and then you wouldn't have had all those lovely Judd Law scenes.

Fry is brilliant as ever, and I can't think of anyone better to play the great author and playwright. Funny, and upsetting. A great homage to Oscar's blessed yet unfortunate life.

[size=1][color=green]i was practicing my muffins today.... i got a good recipe. i made some and mum liked them so i made some more... they are good.[/color][/size] [size=1][color=green]i got them out of the coffee and bites book... it always has good recipes. [/color][/size] [size=1][color=green]in fact, i made another one of them for my tea. croque monsier.. or something. it is basically a ham and cheese toastie, but it is good.... i also watched the edge last night... was good.[/color][/size] [size=1][color=green]not much happened. i spent the day doing nothing.[/color][/size] [size=1][color=green]oh, well, i watched Wilde.. which has to be one of the greatest films i have seen in a long time. i loved it. and stephen fry plays a very god wilde. Stephen Fry is brilliant~ he brought out oscar's wit so seamlessly.. it touches me to see how deeply he's in love wif Bosie, despite how the latter treated him... love knows no boundaries!!
