The Wilde Wedding is not very good. There are too many characters, which leaves no room for character development, or any meaningful arcs.

The finale, though a bit cheesy and decidedly telegraphed, is sweet and a welcome antidote to all the bare-skinned romping.

The Wilde Wedding has the chance to be a pretty great movie but lacks the courage to pull it off. Even if it never quite deals with the bigger issues it raises, the sassy dialogue, twisty plot and full-on performances are so lively that the audience is kept on its toes, at least until it becomes obvious where it's heading.

It's a shame that such great actors were reduced to play these roles in a terrible, cliche rom-com.
