After defeating France and imprisoning Napoleon on Elba, ending two decades of war, Europe is shocked to find Napoleon has escaped and has caused the French Army to defect from the King back to him. The best of the British generals, the Duke of Wellington, beat Napolean's best generals in Spain and Portugal, but now must beat Napoleon himself with an Anglo Allied army.

I love this era in history and this film is far more accurate and more full of true facts and details than many would believe.

Wonderful depiction of the great battle. I still feel awe watching the number of extras that appear in the battle scene.

Ok well its about the Emperor and thats all i need really. This film contains perhaps the best film portrayal of Napoleon by the late great Rod steiger. "I may have lost the battle at 5 but i won it back again at 7!!" Classic.

Good performances from Steiger and Plummer. However the film seemed to put education over entertainment, whilst trying to maintain both. A difficult task, clearly. The battle scenes are fucking epic though.
