In 1914, the Mexican revolutionary Pancho Villa invites studios to shoot his actual battles against Porfírio Diaz army to raise funds for financing guns and ammunition. The Mutual Film Corporation, through producer D.W. Griffith, interests for the proposition and sends the filmmaker Frank Thayer to negotiate a contract with Pancho Villa himself.

Great acting and pretty balanced portrayal that doesn't go too far over the top one way or the other.

A TV movie with big screen ambitions, but ultimately it looks, sounds and feels like it's just a TV movie. For those of you who like TV movies - this probably stands out. It just felt watered down and cheap to me. I rented it because I love movies about movies, and this is about early Hollywood filmmakers capturing Pancho Villa's war. But I got bored.

This was an excellent movie. great action, never saw so many peasant women get shot. Antonio Banderas nails this one he is Pancho .This isn't a biopic it's more of a collision of two different worlds and Americas fascination with so called heroic figures.and of course FAME and it's consaquences.This is definately one of my favorites
