Richard E Grant's semi autobiographical debut, shot in Swaziland,Southern Africa,a coming of age story focused on Ralph Compton(Nicholas Hoult-Skins)as he deals with family life, love, fear, and his hopes, great movie really enjoyed it.

The film plays like a scattered collection of memories rather than a straight story. The emotional and political aspects of the movie never converge to make a point.

Wah-Wah is a great movie! The character interaction was true to life - I cried buckets at the end. would def. watch it again.

The film is so well acted -- by Byrne, who makes Harry's internalized agonies and continuously carried torch for his ex-wife touching, and by Watson and Hoult -- that its more cloying moments, including a staged version of the musical "Camelot" (which is too long), are a moot point.

I wasn't too sure what to expect when I went to see this. I was throughly surprised at how good it actually was. Mr.E.Grant has done himself proud in this, he really has. Some bloody fantastic acting especially from Gabriel Byrne and Emily Watson. Typically beautiful cinematography from Pierre Aim really highlighting the beauty of the african wild. Grant employs that wonderful wit that he is so renouned for and it equals some truely funny light hearted moments. A brilliant brittish cast, a fantastic script and wonderful cinematography make this film a well informed piece of cinema definatly something you should watch.
