An amazingly challenging film. The first scene that sticks out in my mind is the razor cutting the eyeball/cloud moving past a full moon. The second is when the female walks into her apartment and sees the moth. Both are really beautiful series of images. Oh and the ants... that is all I'm going to say. Rent it, buy it, see it.

17 minutes of wonderful surreal madness. The first two minutes are just about the most shocking and exciting scenes ever made, and still holds it's power today. A pure delight.

The Film Between the Films, Dali and Buñuel together made a piece of art. Great, Amazing, surreal, Cult Film.

This is absolutely revolutionary right?, seeing that the contemporary age of cinema we live in didn't start until after the 1980's. To understand and appreciate this film you have to understand this movie is from a perspective, that was Paris France, right on the edge of the Golden Age of Hollywood. Which I just read about. They are suggesting a very passionate and very real picture of their life, Surrealists. Cinema isn't their art. But it is a tool. To see their life, they are talking about home, and growing up, becoming aware, to see things change. If cinema started earlier I could suggest this would be one of the best films around. I wonder what other movies were like around then...

I remember when I first saw this movie in high school, the eye ball scene has haunted me ever since.
