Funny and original, Shrek is one of the best animated films out there. It's great entertainment for both adults and kids alike.

"Shrek" brilliantly and effortlessly embraces the timeless charm of classic fairytale lore whilst simultaneously merging it into its own clever and original narrative. A visual treat for children as well as a surprisingly deep message for older audiences, the film is a colorful, hilarious satirical delight.

Shrek is one of the few "children's" movies that I've seen that is equally effective at entertaining adults. If my kids want to watch a movie, odds are I'll try to talk them into this one. It was good enough that I'm glad I have kids so I have an excuse to see part 2 in the theaters.
