Trucker (2008)

Loner Diane Ford is a truck driver with an 11-year-old son, Peter, whom she never sees, and that's fine with her. But, when Peter's father, Len, falls ill, he asks Diane to take care of their son for a while. Eventually, Diane reluctantly agrees, but she quickly realizes that caring for a child interferes with her independent lifestyle - and Peter isn't all that thrilled with the arrangement, either.

A good indy film, nothing more, so say it has a slow star, I say it's slow throughout. Good acting and good story line just can't go any higher the 3 staqsr

Horrible. At least the first hour was, so I turned it off. It's worse than both Come Early Morning and that Heart is Deceitful above all Things movie (both films I associate with this ilk of female character). People are talking about this as some kind of breakthrough performance for Monaghan, but she's just a Wal-Mart Ashley Judd in this film and much better in Gone Baby Gone.

Written and directed by James Mottern with more attention to character than to plot, Trucker is a simple, unadorned study of a loner forced by circumstance to embrace the world again -- but only on her terms.

good movie it could have been a little more in depth though, this movies strongest charicteristic is the unconventional story.

Were it not for Michelle Monaghan's convincingly dirt-under-the-fingernails performance in the title role, there would be absolutely nothing about the film to distinguish it from dozens of other movies.
