In a futuristic Tokyo where police have been privatized and bitter self-mutilation is so casual that advertising is often specially geared to the 'cutter' demographic, Ruka is on a mission to avenge her father's assassination. Ruka is a cop from a squad whose goal is to destroy homicidal mutant humans known as 'engineers', that possess the ability to transform any injury to a weapon in and of itself.

Que decir. El cine japones sorprende, y Tokyo Gore Police se lleva las palmas, lejos, de entre lo mejor del cine nipon del 2008. Rara y escalofriante a topes, oculta quizas el plot mas sorprendente que se haya visto en algun filme gore, ever. Brillantes efectos y montajes asquerosos, la convierten en una obra de culto maximo, un referente bizarro y lo que parece mejor, en una franquicia que se dispone a ocupar los altos sillones del cine gore mundial. Ingeniosa, apocaliptica y vanguardista, Tokyo Gore Police es indispensable. Pero ojo: solo para fanaticos con estomago... y sentido del humor.

Re-defining what 'over-the-top' means, Japan does it again. I think this movie must have the highest random-acts-of-violence-per-minute count of all time ...XD

This movie is outright nuts! Some of the most crazy bizarre imagery ever seen in a Japanese movie. And that's saying something! We're talking giant penis cannons, huge guns that shoot fists, eyeball guns, weird mutant exotic dancers, a chair made out of human (and still living) flesh that pees on people and that doesn't even take into account the ridiculous about blood and viscera that flys on screen every five minutes. Literally!

Absolutely insane, super gory and very very funny. Overlong at 2 hours but packs in so much invention and madness it is easy to forgive. Pretty much the perfect midnight movie. Especially loved the Verhoeven-esque TV ads for the privatised Tokyo Police Force and other mad crap.
