The Invisible Ray (1936)

Dr. Janos Rukh discovers a certain type of radium that has almost magical healing properties. But the element has a dangerous side, too, and it has already started affecting Rukh. Consumed by paranoia, he begins to suspect that his wife is having an affair. Wild for revenge, Rukh hatches a deadly plot...using his own poisoned body as a weapon to kill.

Made in 1936,A Scientist (Boris Karloff) takes other scientists (including Bela Lugosi) on an expedition to Africa to investigate a Meteor crash landingmhe is exposed to the radiation,however whoever he touches dies,he then goes a little mad plotting revenge on anyone who steals his discovery.Both Karloff and Lugosi are excellent as always,this is an enjoyable Science fiction Thriller,I quote 'Ed Wood' ''I loved Lugosi as Karloff's sidekick.'' ''Karloff??? sidekick???? FUCK YOU!''

Kooky, enjoyably cornball sci-fi flick with horror overtones features Karloff as a mad scientist hoping to harness a heat ray to save mankind. Then he's zapped by it, glows and kills anyone he touches. Lugosi is more a friendly rival in this one. Back when sci-fi had no real scientific basis, this one is good ludicrous fun.

A first rate science fiction thriller. The effects work of John Fulton plays with an eerie beauty agaisnt the mostly gothic backdrop and the performances of Karloff and Lugosi are just brilliant. It's fun seeing Boris fall into madness while Lugosi plays against type as a heroic figure. Frances Drake is also stunning. Edge of your seat entertainment from start to finish with a spot of poetry.
