Beautiful, complex and ultimately satisfying...for me anyway. People seem to either really love this movie, or really hate it. I really loved it.

Terry Gillam is a fucking loon (in a good way), and I was speechless for a good long time after seeing Tideland. And I'm a pretty wordy character. Weeks later, all I can say is: Tideland was one of the most visceral experiences I had watching a film, and as much as I loved it, I probably don't want to see it again anytime soon.

Gilliam himself desribed this as a cross between Alice in Wonderland and Psycho and he isn't wrong. This is a very dark, disturbing and twisted tale about human madness (whether self-inflicted or naturally imposed). Beautifully filmed, wonderfully acted with a thoughtful 'What Next' ending. Loved every minute!

terry gilliam is a brilliant director. another great film by him. disturbing and surreal, but a good story. i highly recommend this film!

The first time i saw it, was in Italy at Montone Film Festival. Since that night, this movie is became one of my favorite movie all time. The dark atmosphere, the little-great Jodell, the photography of Nicola Pecorini, the silences in the fields of wheat, and the so optimistic view of life for Gilliam. Everybody can do everithing, also survive in this world. Masterprice.
