actually one of the greatest movies i've seen this year

I think that I completely missed the point the first time I saw it, due to the fact that it can be a very confusing film to watch. It really shows you a look at the world of dreams and the imagination behind them. Michel Gondry's style is just as prevalent in this as it was in Eternal Sunshine, if not more so. I think I tended to write it off as a mess when it came to story when it really isn't. The multilingual script is a little disorienting, but I find it to be extremely realistic for the most part. I thoroughly enjoyed the love story and the fact that it wasn't as easy going as you might expect or be used to. The acting really plays well into that part, Gael Garcia Bernal is incredible and plays such a youthful and oddball person that you can't help but marvel at him. He's someone you can relate to and also admire in a lot of ways. Charlotte Gainsbourg does a perfect job at being an unsuspecting beauty, both physically and mentally. There are very few movies like this around, it's so unique in terms of storytelling and execution.

This movie is all kinds of strange. But considering the context of the movie, it is allowed to be so. I thought this was a very cool movie - one of a kind/very original. The movie switches from reality to bizarre dream states of randomness and fun. The movie also switches languages at random. A little confusing, but I am determined to go back and watch it again one of these days.

Ah no way. I don't even find it funny how this film is like me just slightly altered, cruder and more eccentric/quirky. But it's uncanny and well done. I can't even believe what I just watched. But it was definitely a great film, now I'm just going to be left in really deep thought for a while. But I actually sympathised with a film character the whole time! It wasn't too confusing, only just as confusing as the many times I wake up. I refuse to believe how accurate this film is, it's making me feel very humble, shocked and another weird thing I can't put a word on. I can't believe I actually behaved similar to that, actually ruined a friendship and relationship in a similar way, this for me goes beyond just normal script writing. Ugh, I'm going to go rest my head. But it IS an amazing film, no doubt.
