Craven's name doesn't appear anywhere in the credits of the film otherwise known as They. That's fitting, too, since even the worst Craven-directed movies have a lot more going for them than this painfully familiar bit of oogum-boogum.

At some point, I just tired of looking at all the nicely composed shots unworthy of the stock they're printed on. Lives are at stake here, and I don't mean Julia's and her annoying pals'. I mean the lives of you and me, the only pronouns that really matter here.

Quality Horror This is a great horror movie, it had my girlfriend hiding behind the couch all the way through, and to be fair it had me flinching at the horrible dark lurking monsters as well! The movie itself lets the viewer use their own imagination as to what these monsters actually look like..you'll find yourself squinting trying to make out 'what the hell is that!?' A very simple storyline which does its job well. I found myself questioning 'has she gone mad? or is she truly in danger from these monsters?' only to the very end do you find the answer. The story lasts about 1 hour and a half and fits everything in nicely. I recommend this film to anyone with a good imagination.. Best watched with your Boyfriend or Girlfriend...

THEY are part of one of the worst movies I have seen in years. I'm not even sure who the THEY are! Usually Wes Craven doesn't put his name on something unless it's decent. This isn't even close to decent. This is the slowest, most boring horror film I've ever seen! "Hey remember that that scared us 19 years ago, when we were kids, well all of a sudden it's back, so ummm call your childhood psychologist." Laura Regan is laughable, getting more upset by some crap on her finger than her friend blowing his head off in front of her, and it's just downhill from there. There is nothing scary about this film. I really have to question how like this even gets made.

They never generates any real fear until its last minutes, by which time it is too late to redeem the dull events that preceded them.
