Being a New Nealander, sections of this film really rang true. Especially the parts relating to the Maori culture. I find the acting spot on.

The only movie I've ever seen that made me forget I was watching a movie. It's harsh, but so well done and so moving. I love that every character, even the most violent, is treated with compassion by the story-writer. A low-budget, raw, and perfect movie.
