If you are looking for a purely romantic movie, can shrug off some chauvinism (not take it too seriously) and have a historical bent, this is the movie for you! Pop some popcorn, have some chocolate ready, invite over your girlfriends and have some tissues handy. I love that the female lead is strong, that the male romantic lead is honorable and that Teddy Roosevelt is portrayed so well. The best TR ever in film, in my humble opinion. Watch it, fall in love with it, then thank your lucky stars that women in our time and country don't have to put up with a lot of that chauvinistic BS (much) anymore.

Some of the best cinematography ever and a wonderful score, a solid performance from Connery (who is somehow believable as a Berber even with the accent and western looks, I don't know how he does it) and Brian Keith makes the best Teddy Roosevelt since Teddy Roosevelt.

John Milius' masterpiece, one of the greatest adventure movies ever! Wonderful actors, beautiful landscapes and a staggering script, sparkling with humor and political wit: A high praise of human irresponsibility, cheerfully entertaining, but not to be emulated in real life!

This would have been so much better if we could delete all the scenes of Americans out of it. All those parts of the movie did was confuse and bore me. I liked the movie only when Candace Bergen or her two children were on the screen.
