I loved this movie when it came out, Julian Sands is wonderful. I have been to the hotel where it was filmed, to try to capture the emotion of the film. A beautiful movie

Julian Sands seems incapable of being in anything good after this, but he's perfect for George (Mark Kermode be damned). Lushly photographed, perfectly scored, well-acted- Denholm Elliot, may he rest in peace, was perfection in this. I fell in love with this movie at the age of 12 and it still works for me, all these years later.

wow umn just seen this movie 4 the 1st time n think that this is a good movie 2 watch..its got a good cast of actors/actressess throughout this movie..i think that both helena bonham carter n julian sands both play good parts thorughout this movie..i think that the director of this art house/international/drama/classics/romance movie had done a good job job of directing this movie because you never know what 2 expect throughout this movie its a good movie 2 watch because its enjoyable thoruhgout this movie

I watched this movie when I was in high school, and it has been my favorite since then. Then I read Foster's novel in college. It's so touching. I made several video clips from it, and watched them again and again.
