I thought it was very good entertainment. Depp, as usual, is awesome. However, the movie still lacks a bit in storytelling and the origins. Dillinger's history isn't explained.

Overly long and generally underwhelming. Depp is the only bright spot in a film which has surprisingly little to keep you engaged considering the nature of the subject matter.

Plutôt lisse, voire fade par moments. C'est dommage, vu toute la ribambelle de poids lourds du cinéma engagés dans ce film. Malheureusement, la reconstitution historique sent vraiment la naphtaline arrosée de fantasmes. Les dialogues, quant à eux, sont à un niveau franchement abyssal, c'en est désespérant. Les acteurs semblent parfois en roue libre, comme s'ils trouvaient un moyen d'exister un peu au milieu du carcan étouffant de classicisme.

Oddly, too, the film is somewhat shortchanged by its great star, Johnny Depp, who disappointingly has chosen to play Dillinger as self-consciously cool rather than earthy and gregarious.
