The finest actress of the silent era, 90-year old Lillian Gish gives the performance of her life. Bette Davis is deeply touching as her sister, Oscar-nominated Ann Southern adds sparkle and Vincent Price finally get the role he has been waiting for his whole career. Breathtakingly beautiful.

Not much action, and the plot mostly seems rather quotidian and un-exceptional, but it is charming, has some great performances, and is amazing to see the final (completed) film performances by Ann Sothern, Lilian Gish, and Bette Davis.

Would you see a sweet little movie about four old people? I couldn't wait to see it when i read that the cast comprised Lillian Gish, Bette Davis, Vincent Price and Ann Sothern. These four gems of old Hollywood delivered priceless performances; there may not be deafening guns and explosions, but hearing the clear voices of these giants of the silver screen is enough to keep the viewer riveted. And Alan Price's distinctive music score makes the movie even more precious.
