Good pace enough to keep watching. Never get into a game of Cat And Mouse with Warren Oates!

The film is silly and irrelevant, but Ryan O'Neal was so easy on the eyes and charming in his acting and delivery that it's still fun to watch. His pairing with Jacqueline Bisset makes it even more so. This film is pure 60s/70s fluff, and that's just enough sometime.

The Thief Who Came to Dinner est franchement inintéressant au possible, malgré son côté comique assez poussé (peu étonnant de la part de Bud Yorkin) et la prestation plutôt admirable de Ryan O'Neal (qu'on a vu bien meilleur ailleurs) qui se démène pour faire vivre un scénario qui semble avoir été charcuté pour laisser place à une romance avec la terriblement nulle Jacqueline Bisset. Warren Oates est le principal ressort comique et il s'en sort très bien, dans ce marasme de comédie. Paradoxalement, le film n'est pas désagréable à suivre, surtout grâce à la musique omniprésente d'Henri Mancini. The Thief Who Came to Dinner est complètement oublié et ce n'est pas forcément une mauvaise chose.
