The Brink's Job (1978)

In 1950, a group of unlikely criminal masterminds commits the robbery of the century. Led by Tony Pino, a petty thief fresh out of prison, and Joe McGinnis, who specializes in planning lucrative capers, the gang robs Brink's main office in Boston of more than $2 million. However, things begin to go awry when the FBI gets involved, the cops start cracking down on the gang and McGinnis refuses to hand over the loot...

Great movie with a great cast!!! (I love caper movies)

Highly enjoyable heist picture from "The French Connection" director William Friedkin. "The Brink's Job" features an ensemble cast of 60's and 70s character actors, mainly Peter Falk (fresh off the set of Columbo) , Peter Boyle, Allen Garfield, Paul Sorvino and the great Warren Oates. It's a colourful and character-driven movie, and compared to other William Friedkin movies, this is a pretty lighthearted fare. You won't see much blood or many violent confrontations, but you will see storytelling at it's finest.

Great film, slapstick comedy + interesting true story, Definitely worth a watch. Perhaps a tad dated.

Somewhat mildly entertaining film still has some interesting facets (not the least of which are the performances), but you're left feeling that the film is merely scratching the surface of this interesting story.
